Guide Name: Pool Closing Guide The first step with closing your pool is cleaning it up. Make sure all the debris is out of your pool and the water surface is skimmed. The second step for closing your pool is making sure that your water is balanced. If you need to add any chemicals to your pool, let your filter circulate them. The third step with closing your pool is to shock it with a non chlorine based shock and add one of our conveniently sized closing kits. The fourth step for closing your pool is to lower your water level 4-6 inches below the skimmer. If you have an aquador to cover your skimmer and a plug to the return lines you would not have to drain the water. For above ground pools, we recommend that you take the filter and pump indoors for the winter to prevent cracking from freezing water. For inground filters, you must drain your lines, plug them up and then fill them with anti freeze. Consult the manufactures manual to follow their guide lines on how to blow the lines out. The fifth step is for inground pools only. In this step, you need to drain your lines plug them up and fill them with antifreeze. For this step you will need our non toxic antifreeze, plugs and a gizmo. To do this step, you must put the valves in the closed position. The next step is to empty the lines by blowing the lines. The next thing you do is plug up your lines and then fill them with out non toxic antifreeze. Next put the gizmo into the skimmer to absorb ice expansion. Consult the manufactures closing advice to make sure that you have covered all of the bases. The sixth and final step is to cover the pool. |
